July 21st, 2011 » Rescued Greyhounds of Augarten Park
We also met the fellow rescued Spanish greyhounds as well as the independent and beautiful long-haired Borzoi (Russian wolfhound, known as Russkaya Psovaya Borzaya, pictured at the last of the post) at a corner of Augarten Park. It was simply a breathtaking story that these dog caretakers rescued these gentle and lovable greyhounds from Spain since greyhounds were improperly used for hunting, racing and other demented ways. The white greyhound with a muzzle as shown below, was only here for 10 days and tend to be aggressive with other dogs; it was understandable that the greyhound was new to the environment and such.

They look sweet the way you photograph them hanging out in the park. It’s so sad that greyhounds get abused so often
These are such elegant creatures! So glad they have been rescued! Beautiful photos!!
