If you want to do any studio work, you have two simple options. You can either spend a fortune on renting a studio and all of the equipment or you can spend a slightly larger fortune on setting up your own studio and buying all of your equipment up front. Let’s take a look at the lighting solutions you have available to you for achieving the highest possible efficiency and the best lighting you can ask for.
There are really only two choices worth even looking at for studio lighting. CFL bulbs or LED lights. CFL stands for compact fluorescent lamp and they offer you a good balance between the initial cost, electrical efficiency and the range of available wavelengths. The incandescent bulbs that so many of us are used to using are pathetically underpowered and horribly inefficient. If you walk into a studio and see incandescent bulbs, walk out and take your money somewhere else.
The next step up from CFL bulbs is LED lights. They are a bit more expensive at first, but they have such an amazing working lifespan and a ridiculously high electrical efficiency that they will pay off their initial cost many times over. When compared to incandescent bulbs, LED lights are about 100 times more efficient. On top of that, they are also much more durable than any “bulb” because of the fact that all of the glass is replaced with decently durable plastic. I use CFL bulbs and LED light in my home and I have never broken any LEDs. They are built to last and I really suggest them above all other lighting solutions.
It’s really worth the slightly higher initial cost when compared to other lighting solutions. Also, that cost has been rapidly dropping as each year passes. Soon, LED lights are going to be the cheapest and most efficient lights available.

As an avid supporter of the feral cats & stray animals, I would like to share this beautiful photo snapped by my partner. It took place in the Reforma, Mexico City DF. It was the first feral cat I’ve seen since most of them I’ve seen so far in Mexico City are domesticated cats. It reminded me of a gorgeous cat, Hachi whom I have lost to a life-threatening virus and I never gotten over it.

Yeah. I made it, after knowing the fact that heights are one of my greatest fears.

During my 3-month stay in central Kuala Lumpur, I was torn by the presence of stray cats and kittens that were not even weeks old and fed them daily as much as I can. There were not even stray dogs in central Kuala Lumpur (maybe I’ve seen one or two living in residence homes). I want to bring awareness to these cats and kittens. I’ve tried contacting several animal organisations and clinics to assist them and reported cruelty cases, but so far no responses plus not even a helping hand. NOTHING. Please advise that I want to bring attention to these cats in Kuala Lumpur. THEY need food, help, medical attention and a HOME.

Chow Kit became my favourite area in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I usually feed stranded cats and kittens around that area, which was also one of the reasons.
