I have been featured on Daiya Foods, Inc.’s Facebook Page (which was random because I have been getting hundreds of hits in one day—and I ended up looking to see where it’s coming from…and it was the Daiya Foods, Inc Facebook page!)

Thank you so much.

Portland’s Kettleman Bagel + Bakery

My lovely friend Lisa took a photo in Portland and she found my photo posted on the bulletin! Haha! How random!

Options Model, Trevor

Trevor has some mad killin’ European look. I’m turning him into a modern German in two weeks. This will be good for his model agency, Options Model Management, which I have utmost respect for. I have worked with few models who are from Options Model Management this year, and they were amazing.

I got to work on a shoot with one of my favorite photographers today. She always challenges me and expects so much, like wanting me to give this girl a fro, and it is SSSOOOO worth it! – Ruby Riewer, Hair stylist (Portland, Oregon)

This is so cool. Nadia makes my photo as part of her business card! She’s so awesome and a super creative makeup artist. And so is her graphic designer and talented photographer: Kelty!

Love the description on her written blog: “What is a better gift than to work with an amazing crew of talent on my birthday!

From an international photographer (who has only been doing this since last December I kid you not), two gorgeous models who double as thespians with a knack for Russian accents, a hair stylist that can make anyone’s hair do tricks, and a fashion stylist who has me wanting to put flower petals on my fingertips. A great birthday indeed.”

Interesting Message from a Canadian glamour photographer

16 May

Hi Rika,

So here I was about to drop a cool comment on 2 on some of your groovy work but then I decided to read your bio as it did not have glitter and flashy things on it and-

Holy freaking all that’s holy you’re 22! Good God (or good whatever you believe in) when I was 22 I had no idea what a camera was (flunked photography in HS) and was busy mowing lawns or playing pool.

What I meant to say among my babble is the poise and skill (maturity) you show in your photos is stunning. Coupled with elegant post work and your own style I wish you great and continued success and look forward to seeing you grow as an artist.

Never stop.

Inspiring Photo Shoot: Alberta Ferretti F/W 08

1 May

I absolutely love the emotions and expressive faces of these models and these models are my favourites. It’s all about being tired on the subway, the everyday routines, the slow rides, and wishing everybody’s out of that subway because they are annoying. This is what I love about that photo shoot. I love shooting in random areas like buses, subways (definitely not Portland’s Max because it’s freakin’ gross), and working transportations. It just defines the mood and personality of a hard working person.
